AANGANWADI ADOPTION PROGRAM – NUTRITIONAL INPUTS AND EDUCATIONAL (BORN LEARNING) INPUTS

“MAKING CHILDREN SCHOOL READY IN OUR COMMUNITIES”

Anganwadi Adoption Program (since 2012) fulfils a partial definition of creating a healthy childhood by covering one part of a healthy childhood, i.e. physical health. The project came into existence, centrally focusing on the component of Child Nutrition. A total of 38 Aanganwadi centres are adopted under this project from urban and rural areas. It was found that there was a dire need to address the educational need of children as well, which will ensure the remaining domains of development. Providing education will ensure socio-emotional, cognitive and language development. The programme also tries to develop the intellect of the child through initiating the Born Learning concept of the programme in the total 38 adopted Anganwadi Centres. This project ensures holistic development of each child in the Anganwadi centers.
